Blending extensive classroom theory with practical training in instruction techniques, the curriculum covers the use of fitness equipment and technology under the guidance of experienced instructors. Graduates earn an NFQ Level 5 accreditation, unlocking progression routes to Level 6 Personal Trainer qualifications or direct careers in sports coaching and the health and fitness industry. To ensure competitive career preparation, the program includes a specialized three-week block placement for hands-on work experience within a gym or leisure center setting.

The curriculum covers core technical competencies, including advanced fitness testing, specialist programme design, sports nutrition application, and the effective delivery of personal training sessions. Supported by extensive practical experience in the college gym, a dedicated work experience module, and additional certifications in Studio Cycling, Suspension Training, and Kettlebell instruction, students develop the confidence and qualifications necessary to enter the workforce successfully.

This one year course provides students with the opportunity to pursue further studies in Sports Injuries and Physical Therapy. The majority of students successfully completing this course progress onto Third Level Degree Programmes.

This course offers a foundation in the field of Sports Physiotherapy. If you aspire to a career as a Sports Physiotherapist or specialist, this course can be your stepping stone to Higher Level study.

You will develop foundational skills and knowledge in subjects relating to Sports Physiotherapy, both theoretical and practical. You will also learn about the science underpinning the practical application of various treatments. This course provides an excellent foundation in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries, and will prepare you for progression to Higher Level study.

The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in a range of sports, recreation and exercise activities to work independently and under supervision in a variety of sports related contexts and or to progress to higher education and training.

This is a broad Sports and Leisure course that will enable students to demonstrate and apply a range of skills and knowledge in a variety of Sports and Recreation contexts. Students will acquire the knowledge and practical skills required to assist in the running of a Sports and Leisure Facility. 

Students will be provided with a basic understanding of Recreation theory and health concepts in a variety of subject areas.
