Students will be introduced to key concepts, practices, and policies in the field of professional youth whilst examining national and global issues that can have an impact on youth work and young people. Students develop empathetic skills in communication, psychology and youth justice whilst experiencing two different forms of work placement in community settings. All students will also have the opportunity to undertake two work placements, as part of their studies.

The Commis Chef Apprenticeship is a formal structured two year education and training programme, incorporating periods of off the job training and skills development in college and work based knowledge and skills development on the job skills in an approved industry kitchen.

Apprentices will gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, cook and present a wide variety of dishes and commodities to a professional standard. The apprentice will gain an internationally recognised qualification, continue to earn whilst they learn with an employer of their choice, enrich their work immediately as they acquire new skills and enhance their employment prospects and career opportunities.

If you study Archaeology, you will see the world, time and the human condition in an entirely new way. Archaeology is a uniquely multidisciplinary subject, using all sources of evidence from the past, from ancient manuscripts to the scientific analysis of plants, animals and materials.

The Archaeology, Folklore & Heritage Studies course is particularly suited to school leavers and adults with an interest in cultural and heritage studies who wish to return to education. Students will be introduced to key areas of Irish Archaeology, Folklore, Local History and Heritage studies, enabling them to pursue employment opportunities in the tourist industry. There will be several field trips to places of archaeological, historical, and cultural interest including museums, ancient sites and areas of archaeological interest.

This four year programme enables students to become architectural technologists with additional advanced skills in Building Information Technology (BIM). Students will become competent in the ‘science of building’ and the production of construction drawings and specifications for complex building types, allowing them to become technical members of construction design teams.

Learners investigate architectural history and materials while building a professional portfolio for third-level entry.
