This one year full-time course at Post-Leaving Certificate level is designed for students who aspire to apprenticeships in Carpentry & Joinery or related trades. It also allows successful students the opportunity to progress into further studies at Third Level or Further Education.

On completion of this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified carpenter and joiner, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Carpentry and Joinery.

You will go on to be employed in the construction industry on building sites, in a joinery shop or in maintenance and other areas like renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work.

Many craftspersons use their qualification as a platform to launch careers such as managers, owners of businesses and instructors amongst others.

This course in Carpentry Techniques, which focuses on passive house building techniques and "Nearly Zero Energy Building" (NZEB) standards, aims to produce graduates who are equipped to work in the rapidly changing landscape of today's wood construction industry.

The Carpentry Techniques course is practical in nature and aims to prepare students to find employment with small and large contractors as apprentices or trainee carpenters.

The curriculum focuses on nurturing raw enthusiasm into technical skill, encouraging participants to express their unique creative voices through various mediums. 

This one-year full-time Art course is specifically designed for mature students who wish to deepen their existing art practices through a practical and engaging curriculum. The one-year course in the Certificate in Business Studies (Level 5) will offer students an opportunity to explore a wide range of business-related subjects, allowing students to develop a comprehensive foundation in the key elements of business. Its structure ensures students are well-prepared for a wide array of career paths, employment opportunities, and further education upon completion. 

Dunboyne College’s Film and Media Production course is ideal for anyone with an interest in film and visual storytelling who wishes to explore the creative and technical aspects of filmmaking. It offers a solid introduction to key areas such as camera work, directing, editing, and scriptwriting. Through hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software, students gain the skills and confidence needed to begin working in the field or to progress to further study.

This one-year, 48-week traineeship provides a comprehensive blend of classroom theory and practical work experience tailored for the accounting and payroll sectors. Students earn industry-standard qualifications, including the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business and the QQI Level 6 Special Purpose Award in Payroll Techniques (IPASS). The program features 12 weeks of integrated industry placements, allowing learners to apply their knowledge in real-world settings while maintaining a strong academic foundation at BCFE.

This programme has been designed to enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out risk assessment for chainsaw operations including maintenance and sawing and be able to complete maintenance to the chainsaw. On completion participants will be able to outline the safe operation of a chainsaw during use including interpreting safety decals, safety devices fitted to the chainsaw and cross cutting operations and be capable of completing a number of chainsaw cutting techniques correctly and safety ensuring that the correct storage including cleaning, sharpening and setting is completed.
