This full time course covers the First Year syllabus from Accounting Technicians Ireland. The syllabus has been carefully designed to equip students with an array of transferable business skills, as well as technical knowledge of finance and accountancy practice.

The programme provides students with expertise, experience and knowledge in the areas such as financial accounting and budgeting, costing and credit control, payroll and tax returns for various types of business.

Year 1 offers a progression pathway into the Diploma for Accounting Technicians qualification, the leading Accounting Technician qualification in Ireland.

The aim of this full time course is to provide candidates with expertise, experience and knowledge in accounting, in the areas such as financial accounting and budgeting, costing and credit control, payroll and tax returns for various types of business.

Accounting Technicians will possess the knowledge, skills and competencies to either work on their own or alongside professional accountants. The programme has been designed to provide business with personnel who are skilled in accounting techniques.

The Accounting Technician Apprenticeship is a two-year, work-based learning programme which leads to a Level 6 QQI Advanced Certificate in Accounting.

Places are awarded via a competitive interview process, where applicants who meet the minimum eligibility criteria (see below) are put forward to participating employers for consideration. If you are successful at interview stage, your new employer will issue you with a two-year contract and you start your apprenticeship.

BSc (Hons) Accounting with Computing offers you the opportunity to take Accounting as a Major subject with Computing as a Minor subject. By studying Accounting as a major you will develop skills in financial accounting, management accounting, digital accounting and analytics and audit. By studying Computing as a minor, you will develop skills on managing the business’ computer hardware, network operations and cyber security. If you are interested in developing a career in accounting with a strong technology focus, then BSc (Hons) Accounting with Computing is the course for you.

BSc (Hons) Accounting with Education offers you the opportunity to take Accounting as a Major subject with Education as a Minor subject. By studying Accounting as a major you will develop skills in financial accounting, management accounting, digital accounting, analytics and audit. By studying Education as a minor, you will develop skills on contemporary educational issues, inclusive educational practices and learning and teaching with technology. If you are interested in developing a career in accounting with a strong educational focus, then BSc (Hons) Accounting with Education is the course for you.

This course will enable you to distinguish yourself from other accounting graduates as you will also acquire a specialism in either: taxation, management or information systems.

This course is accredited by the major accounting bodies including Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Upon graduation, you have the opportunity to gain maximum exemption from the above mentioned professional body examinations. The level of exemptions available will depend on the specialism route you select and your achievements in your modules. This course helps you develop general office skills in payroll and accounts, which you can use in small business settings and entry-level finance roles.

This course aims to give participants the knowledge and skills to carry out the accounts and payroll function in a small or medium sized business. It is a good addition to the CV of anyone wishing to improve career prospects in office administration or payroll but also an excellent starting point for candidates wishing to progress further into accountancy and finance studies at third level institutions in Ireland.

The purpose of this course is to enable students to acquire the skills, knowledge, and competence to work independently and under supervision in an administrative role in a range of business contexts and/or to progress to further and or higher education and training.

By the end of the course students will be able to demonstrate a broad range of specialised knowledge applicable to business administration in a range of sectors. They will be able to evaluate and use information to plan, develop and determine solutions to varied problems relating to business administration in a variety of contexts.

This three-year, full-time, honours degree will provide you with the training necessary to become a professional actor.

This intensive practice-based degree in acting is taught through a series of skills based courses in acting technique, voice, movement, and singing which form the core subjects. Learning is also complemented by classes in Dramaturgy and Text Analysis.

This foundation course is aimed primarily at school leavers who are interested in preparing themselves for three-year actor training at conservatoire level, either at The Lir or a similar academy. With an additional focus on broadening students’ reading and understanding of plays and theatre history, it also prepares students for broader drama degrees and related areas of study and work.

As this is only a one year course, it does not attract government funding. All students offered places on the foundation course are required to fund both the annual fee and all living costs privately.

This course is a practical exploration of acting styles required for Theatre, Film and Television. Training is provided in a comprehensive range of skills including acting techniques for both Theatre and Film such Stanislavsky, Meisner and Hagen. Physical Movement, Voice & Speech, Devising and Improvisation. Opportunities to participate in local film projects also feature as part of the performance experience for students.

This course provides a foundation for pathways into further training and education, as well as honing audition skills for Irish and international drama schools such as The LIR, Gaiety School of Acting and RADA.

Actuarial Mathematics could be the perfect course for you. It’s accredited by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK, meaning you may be exempt from some of the exams needed to qualify as an actuary in Ireland and the UK.

Before you embark on learning essential actuarial knowledge and theories, you’ll be given solid mathematical training. In your first two years, you’ll study the fundamental mathematical principles that underpin the actuarial and financial models covered in later years. You’ll also study computer programming, economics and accounting.
