This four year honours degree in Psychology & Sociology provides you with a broad introduction to both disciplines in the first year, followed by coverage of the core areas of Psychology required for accreditation including: social, developmental, personality, biological and cognitive psychology as well as research methods and statistics. The BSc (Hons) in Public Health & Health Promotion (formerly the BA (Hons) in Health Promotion) is a full-time, four year, honours degree course of study that can be chosen within the Health Sciences Common Entry Route. This four year, honours degree course (chosen via the Health Sciences Common Entry Route) is approved by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education, which allows graduates to register as Accredited Public Health and Health Promotion Practitioners with diverse career opportunities in health services, industry, communities, charitable and voluntary organisations, working to improve the health and wellbeing of populations and individuals. Public Health Nutrition involves the promotion of good health through nutrition and the primary prevention of nutrition-related illness in the population. It focuses on applying food and nutrition knowledge, policy and research to improving the nutritional health of the population and high-risk or vulnerable subgroups within the population.

This public health nutrition degree has an international perspective. It examines how global, national and local community programmes can be designed to improve the nutritional status of the population as a whole and those at particular risk.

The course includes practical and theory modules and gives learners a chance to experience the day-to-day procedures related to working in a hairdressing salon through Open Salon days in college.

Through a combination of practical observation and assessment, you will study and practice all areas of hairdressing including: consulting, hair and scalp analysis, blow-drying and setting, cutting and chemical services. There will be an emphasis on practical work experience in approved hairdressing salons, where learners will have contact with clients and potential employers. You will be required to purchase a uniform and professional work kit.

A quantity surveyor manages all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Quantity surveyors seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. A quantity surveyor may work for either the client or the contractor, working in an office or on-site. They are involved in a project from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work.
