This Pathways programme takes place with the employer and equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge with training and practical experience in the working environment. This full-time one-year programme will introduce students to the world of Construction. The programme examines construction materials and safe methodologies, with emphasis on sustainable energy efficient dwellings and green technologies. Students will also attend training workshop, where they will examine a range of different construction methods, calculate the quantities of material required to construct a domestic dwelling, create AutoCAD drawings and experience first-hand the application of renewable energy technologies.

The course is designed to provide students with a hands-on introduction to the broad range of the skills required to work in the construction industry Students are prepared for entry to degree programmes related to the construction industry or for apprenticeships in construction related areas.

This course is aimed at people who wish to embark on a career or gain qualifications in the construction industry, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy technology. The new and exciting Contemporary Applied Art Degree course explores contemporary ideas, use of materials and offers students the opportunity to creatively develop and make objects.
