The BSc in Software Systems Development is a three year ordinary degree course. In this degree programme students will learn how to design, develop, and maintain software applications such as interactive web sites, mobile apps, database applications, and business intelligence tools. Our students also have the option to choose and elective stream of modules in either business, languages or psychology. 

The programme is designed to equip you with the skillset required to work in an array of computing roles in industry. You will develop secure software with the most modern methods of software technology for all areas of application, and you will have the ability to analyse, select, and utilise appropriate emerging technologies for the development of a software solution.

You will be able to store, manage and mine data for businesses, and to develop systems to enable organisations to extract value from such data.

This course aims to provide students who have completed the Level 5 Computer Science/Computer Systems and Networks courses (or equivalent) with the opportunity to design, develop, secure and test software components for computer network systems. Building upon their knowledge students will learn the most up to date software and security technologies to prepare them for a career in this growing area.

The BA (Hons) in Sound Design aims to provide learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies in sound design, programming, and implementation, relevant to the audio-visual industry related to games and interactive media.

By balancing sound design and implementation skill development alongside teamwork and entrepreneurial skills, the BA (Hons) in Sound Design will also encourage students to develop skills in research, critical reflection, and communication. The programme is designed to develop creative and professional attitudes which will enable engagement and collaboration. This course focuses on the technical aspects of immersive sound design for film, specifically in post-production for film production and episodic narratives. You will gain proficiency in advanced spatial audio techniques, editing, mixing for various formats, including stereo and Dolby Atmos, as well the use of dialogue, background, foley, sound effects, and music.

This Sound Engineering and Music Production course is focused on providing students with the essential knowledge, industry experience, contacts and opportunities required to succeed in the music industry. This includes access to Sound Training Productions, a recording and production company led by graduates and students, which offers unrivalled, unique opportunities and links with key contacts in the music industry.

This course not only teaches and develops the particular skills of writing bespoke music for film and video but also outlines a clear career path in the Irish and international film music arena through the demystification of the music publishing world, the teaching of the practical skills of music administration (such as creating a synch licence for film) and in the dissemination of a general understanding of the film making process and its requirements for sound.

The student will leave the course with a comprehensive on-line portfolio and a distinct awareness of the areas in which to promote this.

Within the Modern Languages programme you study two modern European languages to degree level. It is the most intensive exposure to languages and cultures that Trinity College has to offer. You can choose between French, German, Irish, Italian, Russian and Spanish. Apart from French and Irish all languages can be studied from both advanced and beginners level.
