The aim of the programme is to provide learners with the skill, knowledge and competencies to provide administrative support to include, use of office equipment, use of computer applications, document production, payroll and bookkeeping applications, text production,web design and computer graphics. Students also take Microsoft Office Specialist training and tests.

Business Analytics is about converting business data into valuable information through the use of statistical techniques and advanced software. It provides a set of analytical methods for solving problems and aiding decision-making, particularly in the context of large quantities of data. Combining such analysis with intuition can provide insights to businesses and public sector organisations and help them achieve their objectives.

This course covers a wide range of business subjects at level 6 and students gain a very strong foundation in management, marketing, finance, law and leadership. In addition, students will study statistics and entrepreneurship which are keys skills required in today’s business world.

A major emphasis is placed on developing the personal, technical, entrepreneurial and analytical skills required to gain employment or to progress to further and/or higher education.

Studying Business and Accounting together helps you develop an excellent set of technical accounting skills, coupled with a thorough appreciation of the world of business and management. Accounting and finance need to support the implementation of a business strategy to create and capture value for and from customers. The Business element of this degree gives students an appreciation of the core functions of a business and how they interact to create and capture value.

This course is designed to give students an in-depth knowledge of concepts relevant to the business/legal world with an emphasis on Economics and Accounting.

This Business and Finance course is an excellent introduction to so many areas of business, accounting and finance. The course covers key areas of business to include economics, tax, accounting and also practical IT skills, with modules in WP and spreadsheets, that further enhance skills needed to work in so many areas of business. Successful graduates have progressed to popular 3rd Level Business degree courses including; Commerce in UCD (DN650), Accounting and Finance in DCU (DC115), Accounting & Finance in TU Dublin (TU933).

This course will provide you with a solid grounding in general business and competencies in key areas such as finance, economics and accounting.

You’ll gain knowledge and skills in a broad range of business-related modules, including Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing and Information Systems, and be able to apply this knowledge to different environments and industries. You’ll also develop good communication and writing skills.

This three-year honours degree programme is a joint collaboration developed between St Angela’s College and ATU Sligo. It covers the disciplines of Business and Irish simultaneously and equally. The Business strand is undertaken through the medium of English, and the Irish strand through the medium of Irish. Opportunities occur to marry both subjects throughout the degree. Graduates of this programme have the knowledge, skills, and attributes to progress to careers or further study in a variety of fields.

You choose one business subject (Accounting*, Business Management, International Business or Marketing) and one language (Chinese, French, German or Spanish). You do not need to have studied either business or your chosen language for the Leaving Certificate to take this degree.

The Business & Law (BBL) degree is a popular choice for many students and is extremely well regarded by employers across the legal and financial communities. The degree is a ‘double major’ which means it combines law and business in a single degree, providing an ideal skill-set for the commercial world and offering valuable career flexibility.

If you choose this degree, you will undertake business and law modules in equal measure for your first three years in both the UCD Sutherland School of Law and the UCD Quinn School of Business. This allows you to gain a deep understanding of both disciplines while offering you the opportunity to choose in final year which area interests you most for your career progression.

They are about coordinating the functions of a business to deliver value to the client and capture sufficient returns for staff and owners. We will teach you how to make a difference to the lives of customers, providing goods and services they need across a wide range of industries and countries..

A diverse range of teaching approaches are adopted including formal lectures with tutorial support, business case-study analysis, debates, role play, industry project work, charity events, simulation exercises, networking events and in-company internship. Of particular note is the opportunity for students to take part in both national and international business strategy case study competitions in the final year of the course.
