The BA (Hons) in Audio Computing is a response to the growing industry demand for graduates with music and audio programming skills and a solid understanding of sound synthesis and audio processing techniques.

The BA (Hons) in Music and Performance Technologies aims to provide musicians with a broad range of musical experience and knowledge necessary to succeed in the contemporary music industry, in Ireland and beyond.

These include both musical skills (including performance, theory, history, composition, and improvisation) and the technological and business skills necessary for 21st century musicians (such as music production, digital collaboration, creative coding, and entrepreneurship).

The BA (Hons) in Sound Design aims to provide learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies in sound design, programming, and implementation, relevant to the audio-visual industry related to games and interactive media.

By balancing sound design and implementation skill development alongside teamwork and entrepreneurial skills, the BA (Hons) in Sound Design will also encourage students to develop skills in research, critical reflection, and communication. The programme is designed to develop creative and professional attitudes which will enable engagement and collaboration. The BA (Hons) in Sound Design ethos encourages learners to develop entrepreneurial skills, behaviours and attitudes.

This short and practical micro-credential course will examine the broadcast landscape in Ireland, and explore ways to create ground-breaking radio and podcasts that resonate.

Learners will listen to, and create multiple examples of audio content in a variety of styles for both live and online contexts.

Learners will also analyse radio journalism as a discipline, and evaluate contemporary audiences and how to reach them.

Classes take place one evening per week online with a few Saturdays on campus in the National Film School audio lab and radio studio.

The course has been developed with industry partners in Ireland and the state agency with responsibility for skills development for the screen sector in Ireland, Screen Skills Ireland.

Each student will complete a live production plan as part of this course. They will have an opportunity to apply the skills they have learned on the course in a real world context.

The aim of data visualisation is to effectively communicate information through a graphical means. This course aims to provide an understanding of the theory underpinning the field of data visualisation and to provide an introduction to the practicalities of creating effective graphical representations of data.

The course is suitable for individuals involved in the collection, analysis or interpretation of data, as well as for those responsible for the communication of data to a range of audiences.

This part-time postgraduate course is designed for creative professionals from various disciplines (filmmakers, designers, photographers, actors, theatre and event professionals, game developers, animators, painters, sculptors, and more) who want to develop or formulate a strategy for their practice or business, and to take the next step in transforming their passion into a more commercial venture. Throughout the four years you will develop and create drama, documentary and experimental film. You will write scripts, shoot films, and submerge yourselves in cinema culture and tradition. You will work both individually and in teams to create powerful films that develop your own creative voice.
