Studying Business and Accounting together helps you develop an excellent set of technical accounting skills, coupled with a thorough appreciation of the world of business and management. The Business element of this degree gives students an appreciation of the core functions of a business and how they interact to create and capture value.

You choose one business subject (Accounting*, Business Management, International Business or Marketing) and one language (Chinese, French, German or Spanish). You do not need to have studied either business or your chosen language for the Leaving Certificate to take this degree.

In this degree, you will learn about how the financial system works – how assets such as gold, coffee and orange juice are traded, how international markets are linked and the impact of government decisions on markets.

The sports, exercise and well-being sector is one of the largest service industries in Ireland and globally. Ranging from small to large enterprises, many are run by sports-professionals. These businesses need graduates who can both understand the science and practicalities of the sports and exercise sector, and the fundamentals of how to create value and make a profit - via services and solutions that meet a variety of customers.

As a BSc Economics student, you will learn to take a scientific evidence-based approach to understand, critique and create policies to combat economic and social problems. Employers in all sectors from government to financial services have a growing need for economists who can analyse and interpret data. This requires a strong grounding in analytical and quantitative methods. With an emphasis on independent research, this programme is designed to allow you to flourish based on your individual curiosity and strengths.

This option is designed for students who would like to combine their study of law with a strong background in accounting. The BCL is a three-year degree in law combined with one other subject. While the BCL covers all the core modules of law, you cover less law than on the LLB, giving you more time to develop expertise in another subject.

The main advantage is that it allows you to combine the study of law with study of another discipline.

As a graduate of this law degree programmes you will be in a position to immediately enter professional training, either by sitting the Law Society FE1 examinations for entry to the solicitors’ profession or the King’s Inns Barrister-at-Law Degree entrance examination for entry to the barristers’ profession.

Students acquire a thorough grounding in the fundamental areas of legal study: including foundational legal principles; legal systems; and the role of Irish, European, and international law. By studying Criminology, students examine the causes of crime and society's reaction to criminality. Unique interdisciplinary programme with perspectives from sociology, psychology and economics, as well as law.

The BCL is a three-year degree in law combined with one other subject. While the BCL covers all the core modules of law, you cover less law than on the LLB, giving you more time to develop expertise in another subject. The main advantage is that it allows you to combine the study of law with study of another discipline.

Law is taken jointly with one Arts subject for the final two years of the programme. Students can choose from a wide range of Arts subjects including languages and other areas within the humanities and social sciences.

Criminology can be described as the study of crime, criminal behaviour and society’s reaction to it. This three-year degree programme allows students to study criminology in depth, equipping you with the skills to examine criminal behaviour and understand what drives it.
