The human body is a complex structure of systems all working to maintain optimum human health. This anatomy and physiology course is designed to equip learners with knowledge of the structure and function of each of the systems of the human body and an understanding of the interrelationship between the systems of the body.

This is an ideal course to build a strong foundation of knowledge in human anatomy and physiology.  It is particularly suited to anyone undertaking higher education courses without previous knowledge of anatomy and physiology or where this subject is a core element.

The main aim of the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training (Gym-based Exercise) is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to provide personal training and gym-based exercise to the general public and to gain employment in the fitness industry.

The Holistic Health programme at Ide Finglas is a comprehensive full-time course designed for individuals passionate about enhancing community wellbeing and supporting individual health. Suitable for both school leavers and mature students, the curriculum blends essential health and social care theory with intensive practical training. Students learn in a fully equipped healthcare training room and clinical environment, guided by specialist nurses and experienced educators. To ensure a well-rounded education, the course includes mandatory work placements in diverse community settings, providing authentic insights into the holistic health sector.

The Sports & Recreation Traineeship, in partnership with Dublin City Council, offers a premier "earn and learn" opportunity for those seeking a professional career in the fitness and aquatic sectors. This fully funded program (no cost to the student) follows a hybrid structure, three days of academic and practical instruction at FET College Íde Finglas and two days of immersive, on-site training at a Dublin City Council Sports and Fitness Centre. 

This one year course aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary for employment in the Fitness & Health Industry. The course leads to internationally recognised qualifications and students supplement their studies with work experience in a relevant area

This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills to work in the nutrition or general healthcare area where nutritional, general health or mental health support is required.

Learners will learn the importance of developing a holistic and client focused approach to work and will develop the knowledge and skillset to meet the emotional, psychological and social needs of clients in the healthcare sector. The role exercise, diet and nutrition plays in maintaining and enhancing both physical and mental health will be a focus of the course.

Pre-University Sports Science introduces students to the broad and expanding area of Sport and Exercise Science. This challenging course provides students with the skills, knowledge and qualifications necessary to continue into higher education as well as lay the foundations for employment in the fitness and leisure industry.

It is important for prospective students to know that it is a theory-based course with some elements of practical, mainly preparing students for progression to university.
