This innovative course aims to build on existing knowledge and skills with a view to developing your existing role or to prepare you to work in a supervisory capacity or as a senior healthcare worker.

This is a one year full time course leading to a Level 6 QQI Award in Health Services Supervisory Management Skills.

The course covers a range of practical application with skill-based learning and the theory at the core of the outcomes. Learn the technical know-how, improve your own fitness, and learn to instruct others in a safe way. Practical work is carried out in a gym environment. Students will also have the opportunity to gain a swim teacher qualification.

This course enables learners to develop their academic, practical and analytical skills in the area of business management. The course consists of academic study, practical workshops, field study visits and a range of assignments. There is a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship throughout the course. The Level 6 Certificate in Forestry course provides a viable option for those who want to obtain a recognised qualification and specialised skills awards. The general aim of this course is to provide students with a proficient practical knowledge and understanding of horticulture practice at a supervisory level.

This is a part-time course that leads to Horticulture QQI Level 6 award 6M4334 and must be completed over 2 academic years. Students take 3 modules in year 1 and other 3 modules in year 2. The course always runs every Wednesday and Thursday during the academic year and the summer months are then used to complete the 220 hours work placement that is specific to the module choice.

The QQI Level 6 Sustainable Horticulture/ Permaculture Award provides a strong base for developing professional skills in market gardening, nursery stock production, tree and shrub management, sustainable landscape design, leadership and entrepreneurship.

The course allows students to develop a broad range of practical skills in a variety of horticultural-related areas as well as obtain a thorough grounding in the scientific, sociological, political and legal aspects of food production, human ecology and sustainability.

This course is a fulltime, one year advanced course for students wishing to progress into careers in the horticultural sector. Students will spend 16 weeks of practical learning on approved horticultural units within the industry directly linked to their chosen learning stream. This will enable students to learn the management and manual skills associated with their chosen specialism.

Sixteen weeks are also spent at the College. The emphasis during this course is both on the development of business and management skills and also on developing proficiency in a range of skills associated their chosen stream of learning.

Students who successfully complete this programme are awarded the QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Horticulture. This meets the training requirements for Stamp Duty Exemption and DAFM Schemes.
