This One Year, full time, QQI Level 5 Course aims to prepare the Learner to work with people as part of a Multidisciplinary team within Acute Hospital, respite & social care, and community residential care settings.

The purpose of the Nursing Studies - Maternity Care course is to provide students with a clear understanding of the academic requirements, personal qualities and charac­teristics necessary for a successful career in midwifery. The focus of the Nursing Studies - Maternity Care course is to prepare students for progression to Midwifery or Nursing Degree Programmes. Students will gain the skills to work under supervision in a variety of healthcare settings. The course combines a wide range of modules designed to give students an overview of topics required for midwifery and nursing, with a work placement element, which students arrange in a healthcare setting of their choice. Students are provided with a unique insight into careers in midwifery, nursing and caring professions.
