The BA (Hons) Immersive Media Production is a comprehensive level 8 degree programme designed to equip learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to produce immersive and engaging media experiences. This multidisciplinary field encompasses various forms of media, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and 360-degree video. Throughout the program, learners explore the theoretical foundations and practical applications of immersive media, gaining expertise in areas such as storytelling, audio visual production, 3d modelling, coding and virtual production. By combining technical proficiency with artistic creativity, graduates of this degree programme are well-prepared to thrive in the rapidly evolving field of immersive media production, contributing to the development of cutting-edge experiences across industries such as entertainment, education, marketing, and training.

With a strong emphasis on both technical expertise and creative expression, this degree equips learners with a versatile skill set that enables them to push the boundaries of storytelling and create impactful immersive experiences.

This traineeship is run in conjunction with Dublin City Council.  Participants spend 2 days onsite in a Dublin City Council Sports and Fitness Centre.

The aim of this Traineeship is to enable you to acquire the skills, knowledge, and support to develop a product, such as: collection of creative art, musical act, prototype of a musical instrument or an original digital platform and to successfully bring the product to market.

Through the practical experience of working with industry professionals in the traditional arts sector, this programme aims to enable you to integrate the theoretical and practical aspects of product development.

This course will give you the opportunity to gain work placement with major media companies in Ireland and train in technical media production skills. It is a fully funded training programme which includes software, equipment, guest speakers, industry certification and excursions. Work and Train with likeminded media professionals in an exciting environment while gaining the skills to enable you to work in the TV & Film industry.

Applicants who are currently in receipt of a Social Welfare payment may continue to receive that payment for the duration of the course.

This course aims to provide the training for candidates to provide STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting in accordance with Section. A-VI/1 of the STCW Code. On successful completion of the course, a trainee will be competent to take appropriate measures for the safety of personnel and of the ship and to use fire appliances correctly. The trainee will also have a knowledge of fire prevention.

This course is mandatory for a learner to complete a Second-Hand Limited or Second-Hand Full Certificate of Competency.

This course aims to provide training for candidates in STCW Advanced Fire Fighting.

Seafarers designated to control fire-fighting operations on board a vessel shall complete advanced training in techniques for fighting fire, with particular emphasis on organisation, tactics and command.

Seafarers are required to demonstrate competence to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in table A-VI/3 of the STCW code.

The Hairdressing Apprenticeship is a 3-year, work-based learning programme which leads to a level 6 Major Award on the National Framework of Qualifications. Apprentices will spend 80% on the job training with the employer and 20% at a training college. The programme aims to ensure that theoretical learning in an education or training institution is reinforced by the practical experience of undertaking a real job and equips the participant to absorb workplace culture and business processes, whilst honing employability skills. The programme is designed to provide the Hairdressing Apprentice with the knowledge, skills and competencies to become a skilled and confident hairdresser.

Hairdressers will be qualified to work autonomously in a competent, professional and independent capacity, with the ability to use the knowledge, skills and competencies required in their professional practice. They will demonstrate an extensive range of skills and services; from styling, colouring and cutting hair to performing scalp treatments.

The programme will appeal to candidates wishing to take on roles such as port managers, o shore energy project managers, maritime logistics coordinators, and sustainability o icers within maritime and o shore energy companies.

While this programme does not provide a direct entry into the NMCI MSc in Global Sustainable SCM and MSc in Maritime Operations programmes it is a micro-credential contained within both programmes encouraging continuing education.
