This degree is for students who love sport but are unsure what area of sport they would like to work in. Our unique course is equal part business and sport.

The programme is designed to give our students a wide knowledge base through classroom-based learning, practical classes in our state-of-the-art facilities and real-world experience through site visits, industrial engagement, experiential learning and of course our brilliant work placement programme.

A Sport Coaching and Business Management (Rugby) degree explores the cross-functional nature of business and sport and equips students with the necessary skills to attain careers in: sports management, club development, games development and club administration.

This course also prepares students for the emerging area of internet and telephone health care delivery. Clinical experience is an essential element of the course. Placement occurs in each year of the course, which allows the student to put theory into practice in a real health care setting.

This course provides graduates with the skills and expertise to work in the social care profession and work across this diverse sector, in fields such as residential care, disability and community-based services.

Demand is growing for high-calibre graduates who have the necessary skills to develop their careers in this exciting industry. 

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to perform effectively at the supervisory level within the tourism and hospitality services sector. The programme aims to provide students with strong operational, business, management and marketing skills to enhance their supervisory expertise.

This is a full time, four year, level 8 programme of innovative and dynamic culinary study. It is a revisioning of traditional culinary skills training to include a number of other disciplines such as food innovation, media and visual arts, food policy, speciality food production, sustainable practices and gastronomy.

This course draws on core Social Science disciplines such as; Social Policy, Sociology, Psychology, Economics and Politics, with an emphasis on Social Research and Social Studies in Context.

This course prepares graduates to work in social care providing support and assistance to vulnerable people in the community and in residential services. For example, social care workers gain employment working with groups such as children and young people at risk and/or who have been neglected and abused, people with disabilities and older people. 

Intellectual Disability nursing is seen as a speciality field of nursing that provides holistic care to persons with an intellectual disability.  Intellectual disability nurses work as part of a trandisciplinary team in order to enable and empower people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their full potential.

General nurses work as part of a multidisciplinary team in promoting and maintaining health of individuals, families and communities and in systematically caring for those who develop health problems and supporting them to live their lives to their maximum potential.

Psychiatric/Mental Health nursing is a specialist field within the health care profession. It involves an interpersonal caring process which acknowledges the uniqueness of each person. The psychiatric nurse is concerned with the promotion of mental health, the prevention of mental illness and the provision of care to those with mental health problems.

Early childhood education and practice involves supporting babies and young children to become competent and confident learners through loving relationships with others. Children require high-quality education and care during their formative years. Research indicates that the higher the professional qualification of the educator working with the children, the higher the quality of the setting and the children’s experiences in it.

This course is a four-year programme, which equips graduates with the theoretical, policy, legal and practical knowledge required to work in early years services. Learning is through experiential and self-directed learning activities, as well as through group work and presentations.

The final year research project is supervised by an experienced research team. Placement opportunities in each year of study supports learners to become competent early childhood educators. 

This course produces professionally qualified graduates who work effectively in a wide range of early years’ contexts, with children up to the age of eight years. The course involves the study of core, interrelated disciplines including early years’ education,, psychology, sociology, law and personal and professional development and supervised professional practice placements which are essential to effective working in ECCE settings
