The four-year Bachelor of Civil Law (Criminology and Criminal Justice)is a unique degree offering in Ireland for students with an interest in both law and the fields of criminology and criminal justice.

Graduates will understand not only the legal process but also the fundamentals of business. This will prepare graduates to work as lawyers in a corporate environment.

The aim of the programme is to give students the necessary knowledge, skills, networks and experience to succeed in the business world, but also in their workplace, work-life and communities.

Commerce with Gaeilge allows students to further their language skills, study in the Gaeltacht for a semester, undertake work experience and learn about all aspects of business. It is the students who want to build a career in business while also further their knowledge of the Irish language.  

All business subjects are taught through English.  In third year students will spend one semester on work placement in an Irish language medium company or organisation. In year three students will study in Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge at NUI Galway's campus in An Cheathrú Rua.

The BA Global Media is an exciting new programme being launched by University of Galway in 2021. The programme aims to give you a robust and challenging university experience, introducing you to a range of areas such as interactive web media, data, media production, journalism and film studies. It will also give you a critical understanding of the changing global media environment and an insight into the role of the media in a globalised world.

This is a degree course allows you to combine the study of mathematics with computer science and post-primary teaching education. This is a four year concurrent initial teacher education programme and includes a number of school placement opportunities throughout the course. The BA in Music at the University of Galway is Ireland’s newest undergraduate music degree. Students learn about the theory and history of music, and develop creative practical skills in performance, composition and technology. There is also the possibility to take a work placement in a music-related field during the third year of the degree, for which students will receive training in transferable professional skills.

The Bachelor of Arts (Global Experience). Entry has subject groupings.  Students of GY129, Bachelor of Arts (Global Experience), study 3 subjects in their first year, from a selection of 21 subjects. A subject belongs to one of 7 groups, and you cannot select more than one subject from a group. On progression to second year, you continue to study two of the subjects to degree level.

This innovative and highly flexible Languages degree allows you to study two languages, with the possibility of taking another language at Beginner’s Level in the First year. Linguistics, Translation Studies and Media are embedded at all levels of the programme.

Thih is a creative and lively four-year degree in media and Irish which is taught entirely through Irish. It covers the latest thinking and research in the fast-changing world of digital media, and provides a balanced mix of academic study and practical, hands-on learning in journalism, television and radio production, broadcasting and multimedia, together with a thorough grounding in Irish language and literature and a focus on Gaeltacht heritage and culture.
