The programme provides a unique opportunity to study drama, theatre and performance from a practical, theoretical and historical perspective. You will explore all aspects of performance from theatre to film, story telling and new media.

This course involves project based work, educational placement in the community, portfolio preparation, creative practice, a period of study abroad at an international university, service learning, and placements within NGOs (non-governmental organisations). Students examine the philosophical basis, history and origin of human rights.

This course is taught as a writing workshop, dividing students into small groups, with weekly writing and revision. Participants will have a chance to meet professional writers, and will be guided through their years at the university by a programme director and mentor.

All assessment is based on continuous exercises, project work and portfolio expansion. There are no end-of-term papers or exams for Creative Writing.

This degree combines a teacher training qualification with teaching practice throughout the duration of the programme. As part of the programme you will undertake a teaching placement in each year, completing 100 hours of teaching between years 1-3 and a furher 13 weeks a post-primary school in your fourth year.

History is about people, the forces that shaped their lives and the ways in which they changed their societies. The BA (History) is a four-year degree that offers you choice and flexibility in what and how you study.

Psychology is the study of behaviour and mental processes, and includes individual and social, human and animal, basic and applied aspects of these. The School of Psychology provides modules in all the main aspects of Psychology including Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Biological Psychology, Personality Psychology and Research Methods.

Studying how human beings have adapted to every conceivable environment and cultural circumstance, how different peoples grappled with challenges as basic as survival and as abstract as the mysteries of the cosmos, archaeology is about understanding the forces that have shaped human civilisation across the globe, and how this story is of relevance today.

If new to Italian, students follow an intensive foundation course in grammar, translation, conversation, language laboratory and video work during their first year, with an emphasis on the communicative use of Italian. Philosophy is concerned with central questions concerning the nature of morality, society, politics, art, religion and science. It asks quetions about the nature of reality, the limits of knowledge, and ethics. The aim of course in philosophy is to allow students to develop the ability to reason lucidly, express views clearly and support claims coherently. You are introduced to the ideas of the ancient and modern philosophers who have helped to shape western culture.

Psychology is a science that seeks to better understand people - their thoughts, emotions and actions. The core elements of this course include research, design, quantitative methods, lab sessions, research projects, biological causes of behaviour, child and family psychology, psychology of personality, and social psychology.
