The School Leavers course is designed for students who are 22 years of age or under who have already completed a Leaving Certificate, QQI level 5 or 6 qualification or equivalent. 

This foundation course is aimed primarily at school leavers who are interested in preparing themselves for three-year actor training at conservatoire level, either at The Lir or a similar academy. In designing this programme, the Academy has focused on training composers in the areas of acoustic and electro-acoustic music, in addition to theoretical support subjects such as harmony and counterpoint, analysis, history and aural awareness. The Access to University Course is a full-time 13-week pre-entry course that leads to a place on your chosen undergraduate programme at UL. This course is for students whose economic or social backgrounds are underrepresented in higher education.

The course runs from January to June during the spring semester. The Access to University course has no course fee.

The B.A. in Applied Policing is the Foundation Programme for Garda Trainees. This Training Programme is delivered over 104 weeks leading to a B.A. in Applied Policing.
