Medical Science is the study of investigative laboratory procedures, techniques and instruments that are required for the diagnosis of clinical disease and the monitoring of therapy. In recent years there has been an increasing demand for medical laboratory diagnostic services and for the development of new services. 

This programme will prepare graduates for employment in the extensive pharmaceutical, biomedical and healthcare sectors in Ireland. he BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching provides students (aspiring coaches) with advanced coaching techniques, styles, and education through a variety of sports (e.g. team, individual, outdoor pursuit), including inclusivity and disabilities. This multidisciplinary programme will ensure students learn effective coaching techniques and have a scientific understanding of anatomy, physiology, sport psychology, fundamentals of movement, talent development, and the ability to analyse and critique technique. All these skills will be learnt through a variety of different coaching environments.

This new degree programme is the first of its kind in the West of Ireland. Public Health Nutrition focuses on the promotion of good health through nutrition and the primary prevention of nutrition-related illness in the population. Students on this course will: Develop, implement and evaluate nutrition policies and programmes. Apply scientific knowledge to understand the impact of food and diet on health and well being. Work to improve the diet, nutrition and health of individuals and communities.

The course is designed to reinforce and enhance the student’s knowledge of scientific principles, processes and technologies through the study of food. will focus on a new food product development, entrepreneurship, and introduction to sensory and consumer science. The final years of study will focus on the acquisition of scientific skills in food science, sensory and flavor science.
