This is a one year full time course leading to a Level 6 QQI Award in Health Services Supervisory Management Skills.

This course offers holders of a Level 5 health-related award the opportunity to undertake further study in this area. This award will equip the learner with the necessary knowledge, skills and competence to undertake supervisory roles in the caring environment.

It also offers a sound introduction to management in the health services for those wishing to build upon their experience and to gain a formal qualification in management.

This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills to work in the nutrition or general healthcare area, where nutritional, general health or mental health support, is required.

Students will learn the importance of developing a holistic and client focused approach to work. At the end of second year, students enter the Physical Education, Adapted Physical Activity or General Health and Leisure streams which allows students to begin specialise in specific topics in third year or continue to take the general health and leisure programme. There is also a 12-week work placement in third year, which can be completed with a local, national or international service provider.
