Our BSc in Information Technology is not just about coding. It's about understanding the impact of technology on society, it's about learning how to think critically, solve problems, and develop solutions that matter. You'll learn to work with modern technologies like cloud computing, networking and security, but you'll also learn how to identify and solve the challenges that businesses and society face. 

Students of this course study the broad and expanding area of Information Technology (IT), including subjects in management science, computing, communications technology and human sciences. This level 8 honours DCU degree is delivered through online learning and so is more flexible than a full-time, or part-time, campus based programme.

This programme provides students with the knowledge, skills and competencies in IT infrastructure, security, emerging technologies, systems management, database systems and IT applications. The programme is designed around five key strategic pillars; Networking, Security, Cloud Computing Technologies, Scripting and Database Systems. The students who enrol on this programme will study modules aligned to the above areas.

SETU’s BSc. in IT Management provides a unique blend of Business and IT subjects which is viewed by industry as an essential element in the role of a modern IT manager. The course comprises of a significant amount of practical work. The BSc. in IT Management at Level 8 offered as a tertiary programme between SETU and KCETB, will provide learners with a breadth of transferable IT competencies.

This multi-disciplinary course provides a comprehensive foundation of physical science, mathematics, electronics, measurement technology and information technology on which a range of specialist instrument engineering modules are developed. There is a continual emphasis throughout the course on the design standards and best practice relevant to instrument engineering.

This course is designed for people who wish to become professional therapists, or for those who have an opportunity to use counselling skills as part of their work. The programme will also appeal to a variety of professionals who wish to augment and build upon previous training in the addiction, social care, health, education and mental health professions.

IICP operate a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Policy whereby, under certain conditions, learners can gain access to the BSc (Hons) Degree programme at an advanced stage.

While undertaking this dynamic and exciting programme of study, learners are guided and nurtured as they acquire the necessary skills, knowledge and competence to become effective practitioners. In this speciality field, intellectual disability nurses work as part of a cross-disciplinary team that strives to enable and empower people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their full potential.

Intellectual disability can affect two aspects of people’s lives – their intellectual functioning (such as learning, problem solving, judgement) and their adaptive functioning (in activities of daily life such as communication and independent living). During this course, you’ll come to develop the  professional knowledge, skills and attitudes you’ll need to care for people with intellectual disability.

Over the duration of the course, students will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet the specific needs of people with an intellectual disability in a safe, competent, and compassionate manner. Student’s academic and clinical knowledge will be developed throughout this rewarding course using simulated learning environments and modern learning spaces. 

This course is designed to give applicants the academic skills and competence to succeed at undergraduate level, the confidence to progress into a professional programme and the opportunity to undertake a rewarding career in Intellectual Disability nursing.
