Mechatronics is the combination of mechanics, electronics, robotics and computing that is used in modern engineering industries. It involves the study of automation from an engineering perspective and serves the purpose of controlling advanced hybrid systems in business and industry.

In this work-based version of our campus course, you will spend three days a week in the workplace and two days a week studying online from IT Sligo, Ireland's largest and most experienced institute in online learning.

You will learn how to analyse, design, and control the type of machines and processes that are used, for example, in biomedical, automotive manufacture and high-speed automation. As a Mechatronic Systems graduate you will be equally at home in the mechanical or electronic domain and will be a specialist in interfacing computer-controlled systems.

Across the programme, practice-based learning is framed by the study of media and broadcast concepts, critical contexts, and current industrial practices. This approach encourages our students to become creative and critical practitioners with highly developed audio-visual literacy.

This degree aims to introduce you to the widest possible experience of modern broadcasting and media production combined with critical thinking and excellent online skills.

This one-year course introduces students to the broadcasting and media industries with a strong emphasis on the practical skills needed to work in radio, television, online media, journalism and content creation.

All aspects of this dynamic course are integrated and assessed through individual or group assignments and projects in the college’s state-of-the-art radio and television studios.

This is a one-year full-time programme which enables learners to develop their visual skills and explore their creativity though digital and practical processes. Working in a studio-based environment, our hands-on production modules and specialist workshops focus on digital content creation and will have you thinking, designing and creating right from the start. This degree is designed to be fluid, responding to both your interests and the ever-changing industry landscape. With a complementary suite of practical and theoretical modules, all aspects of the course inform and are informed by each other. 

This one-year full time course equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge to work as a media professional both independently and in a supervisory capacity in a fully functioning radio station. The programme is designed to give the learner ample opportunity to hone key skills working in a live broadcasting environment, develop an understanding of an ever changing and growing media industry and build a portfolio of work as a media professional, broadcaster and journalist.

In our Media Studies degree students will study the principles and practices of audio-visual production and interactive web authoring, how to research and analyse media cultures, genres and industries, and the role of media in society and politics.

Students engage in independent and group projects to develop their media practice and have a flexible range of optional modules to expand their critical understanding.

This one-year QQI Level 5 certificate provides a nationally recognized qualification for specialized administrative roles in the medical, dental, and general business sectors. The curriculum focuses on medical secretarial skills, business administration, and workplace computing, tailored to the needs of hospitals, private practices, and the pharmaceutical industry. Designed for immediate career entry, the course equips learners with the technical and organizational expertise required to support diverse healthcare environments.

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently and under supervision providing administration services and support in a range of office administration contexts and or to progress to higher education and training.

This programme is designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in the medical administration field. The course focuses on both theoretical and practical aspects, ensuring that learners are well-prepared for a variety of roles within the healthcare sector.

You will learn through a combination of onsite modules that are assignment based and complemented with online independent study. You will also source and complete a Work Placement in a legal, medical, or business setting that gives you the opportunity to put into practice the industry skills you are acquiring throughout the course. The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work independently and under supervision in an administrative role in a range of business contexts and/or to progress to further and higher education and training.

This course provides specialized training in medical terminology and clinical administration, equipping graduates with the essential skills for healthcare support roles. It prepares learners for professional administrative positions across diverse medical environments, including hospitals, clinics, and dental practices.

Through hands-on training, learners gain practical expertise in medical office procedures, hospital and primary care administration, and essential business and IT applications used across modern healthcare environments. The course also offers insight into the administrative operations of community health services, private practices, pharmaceutical organisations, research settings, and complementary medicine.
