The aim of this progarmme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in a range of sports, recreation and exercise activities to work independently and under supervision in a variety of sports related contexts and or to progress to higher education and training.

The course is taught primarily through lectures, practicals, and tutorials. A significant emphasis is placed on project and experimental work with site visits and field trips making up an integral part of the coursework. There is a continuing regional, national and international requirement for structural engineers with a knowledge of construction

The aim of this Minor Award is to support practitioners who are dealing with those bereaved by suicide.  It is designed to allow learners to understand the complex nature of suicide bereavement and the psychological havoc that is created in the lives of suicide survivors. It will also introduce the learners to a range of individual and group interventions to help facilitate the healing process. Learners on this programme will engage in teaching, discussion and engagement with key scientific literature related to the post-suicide landscape, the key principles of intervening with this client group and the therapeutic resources and responses that are appropriate.

The course is designed for young actors aged 13-15 who have a passionate interest in performing and would like to have an early start in acting training. Participants will get a taste of the environment of a theatre academy and hone their skills under the supervision of core Lir Academy tutors. The programme introduces young performers to the key components of actor training such as: Acting & Improvisation, Voice & Speech and Movement & Physical Theatre in a supportive, fun and educational environment.

This course is an excellent first step for young actors who are passionate about being on stage and want to work towards a career in theatre and drama.

On course completion the candidates will have in-depth knowledge of emerging theories, concepts and methods in the field of Supply Chain Management and will be able to assist organisations in developing and sustaining competitive advantage.

The Supply Chain Management Institute (IPICS) in partnership with the University of Limerick have developed a Level 7 apprenticeship for a Supply Chain Associate. This programme is run in conjunction with our industry partners.

This Level 7 Diploma in Supply Chain will provide graduates with the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of supply chain processes and the ability to evaluate inventory activities within an organisation’s global operations. ­This Diploma programme will give you the skills and understanding of the various concepts of operations management related to supply chain management and grounded in the SCOR model. It will prepare you in order to effectively evaluate performance of supply chain activities and identify opportunities for improvement and integration Graduates will understand how to earn customer satisfaction by delivering Lean/Just-in-Time products and services.

The Supply Chain Management Institute in partnership with the University of Limerick have developed Ireland’s first apprenticeship with a level 9 qualification, the Master of Science in Supply Chain Operations (MSc). This programme is run in conjunction with our industry partners IPICS. The focus of a Supply Chain Manager is on the efficient and effective management of the production network of Industry 4.0. The DJEI Enterprise 2025 Report states that global value networks are resulting in the progressive disaggregation of supply chains and creating new ecosystems involving multi-dimensional partnerships between companies, suppliers, competitors and research institutes in different locations throughout the world. A Supply Chain Manager needs to be able to aggregate and manage these various physical and virtual value chains to maximise the competitiveness of the company. Stepping above procurement and scheduling, transport and logistics the Supply Chain Manager in Industry 4.0 needs to be able to manage activities across the value chain, including: headquarters, shared services/global business centres, customer contact/technical support, research and development, and geographically dispersed production.

The purpose of this programme is to develop the apprentices’ knowledge and equip them to recognise and assess supply chain management with specific reference to organisational performance. They will also be in a position to evaluate and proactively influence the impact of upstream and downstream factors on supply chain performance.

The Supply Chain Management Institute (IPICS) in partnership with the University of Limerick have developed a Level 8 qualification for a Supply Chain Specialist - the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Supply Chain Management. This programme is run in conjunction with our industry partners.

This Level 8 Bachelors of Science in Supply Chain Management will provide graduates with a Green Belt level in the skills and knowledge of project management and to deploy lean/sigma project methodology to pursue process improvements. It will also afford graduates to be subject matter experts with the skills and know how to take responsibility for forecasting and planning, purchasing, procurement, logistics, operations, inventory management, customer service, transport, distribution and warehousing.

There is a strong focus on skills development and in the implementation of designing, planning, executing, controlling and supervising supply chain activities.

This Certificate in Supported Employment Level 7 course is a professional qualification targeted specifically at the needs of people working as job coaches and employment facilitators. It will provide:

• A detailed understanding of the social and legislative context in which the employment of marginalised groups takes place
• A formal grounding in the principles, processes and best practices of Supported Employment
• The skills and tools required to work effectively as a jobs facilitator for the good of service users
