The Accounting Technician Apprenticeship, overseen by Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI), is a premier professional program designed to develop high-calibre accounting personnel for the Irish economy. As the leading professional body for Accounting Technicians on the island, ATI provides a dual-education model that seamlessly blends high-quality academic tuition with practical, paid work experience. This "earn-as-you-learn" pathway is specifically tailored for school-leavers and employees who want to bypass the traditional full-time university route and fast-track their entry into the financial world.

The Accounting Technician Apprenticeship is a two-year, work-based learning programme which leads to a Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Accounting. Unlike college courses, an apprenticeship is an opportunity to earn money and become qualified while you are learning on-the-job. As an apprentice you will spend one day a week in Dunboyne College of Further Education during the academic year (off-the-job training) and work with an employer for the remaining four days (on-the-job training). Outside of term time you will be working with the employer five days a week (Monday – Friday). The rate of pay is agreed between you and your employer. The employer pays you a salary while you are being trained on-the-job and off-the-job.

This national programme leads to a level 6 QQI Advanced Certificate in Accounting and provides many advancement options such as exemptions from professional accountancy bodies and relevant third level colleges to complete further studies.

This will enable the learner to gain invaluable exposure to the role, while developing the academic skills to support a career as an Accounting Technician.

This course is aimed at students who are interested in pursuing a career in Accounting Finance. Learners are taught key accounting concepts, principles of accounting and the knowledge and skills required to understand personal and business taxation regulations. They will gain an understanding of core business functionsin management, marketing and law. Learners are schooled in the modern accounting practices, which qualifies them as professional Accounting Technicians.

BSc (Hons) Accounting with Computing offers you the opportunity to take Accounting as a Major subject with Computing as a Minor subject. By studying Accounting as a major you will develop skills in financial accounting, management accounting, digital accounting and analytics and audit. By studying Computing as a minor, you will develop skills on managing the business’ computer hardware, network operations and cyber security. BSc (Hons) Accounting with Education offers you the opportunity to take Accounting as a Major subject with Education as a Minor subject. The purpose of this course is to enable students to acquire the skills, knowledge, and competence to work independently and under supervision in an administrative role in a range of business contexts and/or to progress to further and or higher education and training. This highly practical QQI Level 5 Acting & Theatre Performance course provides comprehensive training to develop elite acting techniques and stage skills for careers across theatre, television, and film. The curriculum seamlessly balances academic insight with rigorous performance experience, using continuous live productions as a primary assessment method. Distinctive features of the program include screen acting collaborations on short films and music videos with film students, guest speaker workshops, and regular public mainstage productions held in Galway's premier professional spaces, such as Druid’s Mick Lally Theatre.

This foundation course is aimed primarily at school leavers who are interested in preparing themselves for three-year actor training at conservatoire level, either at The Lir or a similar academy. With an additional focus on broadening students’ reading and understanding of plays and theatre history, it also prepares students for broader drama degrees and related areas of study and work.
