These three BA programmes are part-time, evening (with some daytime options available), interdisciplinary degrees for mature applicants (21 years or older on 1 January in year of application).
Applicants choose one of three-degree options at the point of registration:
BA Equality and Community Studies
If you are interested in community work, addiction and recovery, social justice, youth studies, development, adult education, politics, society and culture then this wideranging degree will appeal to you.
BA Local History, Cultural Heritage and Environment
This degree combines the expertise of Ireland’s leading history department for the study of local history, with one of the most well regarded geography departments in the country; study folk traditions, Gaelic Literature and Culture with modules from the Centre for Irish Cultural Heritage and Ancient Classics, Anthropology and Sociology.
BA Adult, Community and Further Education
If you are interested in understanding how adults learn, education across the lifespan, design and delivery of Adult Education programmes, and are working in, or seeking to work in learning contexts across community and further education, then this degree is for you. (Teaching Council Accreditation in progress).
