A travelling head is part of the stable staff team responsible for all duties required to take mares and foals to stallion farms during the breeding season, yearlings to sales, Racehorses to the Racecourse, or horses to the vet clinic.

Responsible for marketing race days and the sport of horse racing in general, as well as attracting new customers and build relationships with sponsors through effective marketing campaigns.

Assists in the smooth running of the mart. Can include a wide variety of tasks from animal care to animal sales activities. Involves working with animals and farmers.

Focused on improving farm productivity through the development and maintenance of farm machinery and the design of agricultural systems and infrastructure.

Prepares and supplies food, drink and entertainment for functions and special events.

An assistant trainer is responsible for assisting the trainer with the daily care and conditioning of the horses in their yard to prepare them for competition on the Racecourse and the supervision and training of the stable staff team.  They also set out the training schedules, liaise with owners and help with the overall running of the business.

Works on a commercial honey farm looking after hives of bees where honey is made, collected and sold.

Works on a trawler at sea, catching and landing all kinds of fish and shellfish.

Co-ordinates or supervises the activities of a crew on board ships and boats.

Employed on ferries, cruise ships, cargo container ships, and a wide range of vessels designed for specialised supply, support and rescue roles.

Responsible for the transportation and care of horses on national and international trips

Works on the design and development of new agricultural methods, machinery, and systems towards solving problems facing the global ecosystem.
