An assistant trainer is responsible for assisting the trainer with the daily care and conditioning of the horses in their yard to prepare them for competition on the Racecourse and the supervision and training of the stable staff team.  They also set out the training schedules, liaise with owners and help with the overall running of the business.

A grounds person works as part of the racecourse team to ensure that the racing track is kept in premium condition, this involves maintaining a safe racing surface, applying nutrients or pesticides, cutting grass and dealing with issues caused by the weather such as a waterlogged track. On race days they replace divots after each race.

Works on a farm helping the farmer or farm manager with his/her running of the farm.

Works on a trawler at sea, catching and landing all kinds of fish and shellfish.

Plants and cares for flowers, grass lawns and trees in a garden. Tasks include planting, trimming, mowing, carrying out redesign work and repairing features. May work in a variety of settings, including public parks, private homes or the grounds of bushiness.

Works in a forest helping the Forest Officer with the maintenance of the forest.

Works for government agencies to ensure that traders, farmers and agribusinesses comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

Oversees the entire brewing process from start to finish, and is responsible for the quality of the final product.
