Provides veterinary advice to racecourse stewards on the health, welfare and fitness of the racehorses that are due to run

A nominations executive is a specialist marketing type role.  A stud farm which stands stallions will usually have a nominations team, and it is the nomination teams’ job to book coverings of mares by the stallion at that stud.  The nominations team are experts in the pedigrees of thoroughbreds and work to achieve the best mating between a mare and stallion.

Farm workers carry out the general duties and heavy labour involved in running a farm.

Searches for knowledge of the past by studying and digging for ancient artifacts.

Carries out various functions related to services and schemes operated by the Department of Agriculture in addition to operating controls relating to animal welfare, public health, animal health and EU payment schemes.

Studies the behaviour, physiology, evolution, and classification of animals.

Bakes and decorates bread and confectionery of all kinds.

Trains and instructs people to ride and care for ponies and horses at a stables.

Responsible for the general care of mares and foals, including cleaning stables, feeding, monitoring their condition, especially of mares when foaling, grooming, and preparing for sales.

A head person is the supervisor of the stable staff team in a racing yard and responsible for the smooth day to day running of a yard.  The role is responsible for planning and scheduling the daily tasks in the yard ensuring a high standard of work is maintained by the stable staff team and that they are appropriately trained and developed and general care of thoroughbreds.

A stud manager’s role is to run the entire stud farm as a business enterprise, breeding and caring for horses to race and liaising with owners and trainers, ensuring the efficiency of business operations as well as setting strategic goals for the future. Ensuring the profitability of the company's activities to drive sustainable development and long-term success.
