The stud groom’s role encompasses a variety of positions from handling stallions to foaling-down broodmares or preparing yearlings and is fundamental to the day to day running and operation of any study farm.  A few tasks involved on a near daily basis are mucking out stalls, bringing horses in, educating foals and weanlings, and feeding horses.

An assistant trainer is responsible for assisting the trainer with the daily care and conditioning of the horses in their yard to prepare them for competition on the Racecourse and the supervision and training of the stable staff team.  They also set out the training schedules, liaise with owners and help with the overall running of the business.

The wholesale butcher works with beef, lamb and pork and prepares it for sale to retail butchers, restaurants, hotels and caterers.

ISPCA inspectors enforce the law relating to the care, transportation and general welfare of pets, livestock and other animals.

Owns or works on a dairy farm carrying out the day to day duties involved in managing a dairy herd.

A stallion handler is responsible for the day to day care of elite stallions. Working at a stud you will be a specialist in handling stallions around the yard and during the breeding process.  There is significant responsibility of looking after these highly valued thoroughbreds and seeing the safe practices of covering broodmares during the breeding season.

Exterminates insects, rodents, or other pests from residential or industrial properties.

Cultivates plants and woodland using technical and scientific knowledge about natural life. Assists a wide variety of professionals, including fruit, vegetable growers, landscape designers, farmers, gardeners and architects.

Works in a butchers shop preparing meat for sale to the public.

Prepares and delivers training courses to individuals and organisations on the most up to date issues in Food Safety Management.
