Biomedical Engineering
Biomedical engineering is key in the development and recreation of artificial organs, limbs and skin.
Biopharmaceuticals also known as Biologics are distinguished from other medicines in that they are purified from living culture systems or blood. They are produced by a biological rather than a chemical process and known as large molecular drugs. These are then used in vaccines and monoclonal antibodies to name just two of the hundreds of products which are manufactured in this way.
Careers in the Public and Civil Service are varied, they are characterised by clearly defined career paths with opportunities for progression and upskilling. Positions available include clerical officers, executive officers, management staff as well as technical and specialist roles.
