Tourism & Hospitality

Tourism & Hospitality

Tourism is one of Ireland’s most important and fast-growing industries. It is bigger than construction, agriculture and education. In 2019 the number of people working in the tourism industry was at record highs with the sector supporting 260,000 jobs across the country. Almost every industry has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Understandably, due to the nature of the industry, tourism was one of the first industries to be impacted. However, tourism will play a significant part in the recovery of Ireland's economy as it has done following previous downturns.

Skilled and smart employees will be needed to help rebuild Ireland's tourism sector. A career in tourism will be part of the national effort to help to rebuild the vitally important tourism sector and the wider economy.
