Fairy Fort Farm provides self catering accommodation on a traditional farm in the heart of the Tipperary countryside. It is an ideal location to unwind and relax. Savour the scenery, enjoy lazy days on the farm, feed the animals (hens, rabbits, donkey, ponies etc.).

Fairy Fort Farm is centrally located making it an ideal base to explore the Hidden Heartlands of Ireland, explore the Munster Vales, experience the Ancient East and even take a trip to the Wild Atlantic Way.

Placement Details

Students duties and responsibilities would be outside primarily and include such things as: General Maintenance around the farm which could include painting fences and sheds, general tidy up as needed. Landscaping and gardening, eg. weeding, trimming hedges, sowing and or harvesting plants, vegetables and flowers. Feeding animals and general care. These would be pets, such as poultry, rabbits, pet lambs, etc. (not large herds of animals). General cleaning of cottages, removal of rubbish etc. Checking in and out of visitors, if owner not available, along with providing tips on what to see and do locally and around the farm. We like to preserve nature and do our bit to help biodiversity. We don’t use any chemicals or sprays on the land and allow some patches of ground to grow as they like, making it a haven for wildlife. Students with a strong environmental ethos are particularly welcome.
