We are a Café and Restaurant located near Dingle on the spectacular Slea Head Drive. We are in the heart of the Irish Gaeltacht overlooking Dingle bay, surrounded by truly amazing landscape, and ancient historical sites including Dúnbeg Fort 500BC , and the Beehive huts both of which are right on our door step.

We are a small friendly team of 10/12 employees.  We enjoy serving our local, national and international customer's on our outdoor seating area weather permitting, or inside by the fire with comfortable old world charm surroundings. All our produce are sourced locally including our fresh fish, meat and vegetables , some of those we enjoy growing in our own garden .  We serve morning coffees/teas and lite bites, lunch and evening meals. We offer great Guinness on draught and fine wines, while catering for our regular individual customers, events, groups, and weddings. 

At the Stonehouse cafe and restaurant we employ chefs, assistant chefs, kitchen porters, waitresses, waiters, Bar counter staff . Sometimes an employee can learn other skills, for example a waiter or waitress can learn how to make special coffees or pour a draught Guinness. In the kitchen an assistant chef can learn new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques .  Here at the Stonehouse our friendly team continually help and encourage all employees to learn new skills and constantly improve . 

Placement Details

Involvement in areas in the kitchen and front of house.

Involvement in the Kitchen includes

Assisting in menu planning and preparing food under health and safety guidelines, assisting and observation of food being cooked and learning about kitchen equipment. Learning and Involvement in other general kitchen duties. 

Involvement in front of house includes

Customer service, greeting and serving customers, prepare tables, ensure the restaurant is clean, assisting and observation of coffees and beverages being made, pouring of drinks and wines. Learning and Involvement in other general front of house duties.

A mentor will be assigned during the course of the placement. Skills training will be provided. We will issue you with a certification. Other students may be on placement here at the same time.

Note you will need to be 16 years or older to work in the bar area.
