Coillte, Ireland’s semi-state forestry company, is responsible for managing 440,000 hectares of primarily forested lands. It is the nation’s largest forester and producer of certified wood, a natural, renewable and sustainable resource. Coillte is also the largest provider of outdoor recreation space in Ireland, it enables wind-energy on the estate, processes forestry by-products and undertakes nature rehabilitation projects of scale. Placement Details
Coillte Forest facilitates formal work experience for a number of second level students each year. This work experience gives students the opportunity to experience what work is like and explore options for possible future careers.
Our Transition Year Programme runs over specific weeks in the Academic Year where we bring a number of students form different backgrounds/schools/locations together to be introduced to the Forest industry and what a career with Coillte may look like.
Students applying will need:
- Application Form
- Insurance Letter of Indemnity from your School
- Written permission from your parent/guardian
- Copy of your birth certificate
How to Apply
Applications for the 2025/2026 academic year will open between 1 September & 31 October 2025. Any student interested in undertaking TY Work Experience with Coillte please submit an email with an expression of interest, the above mentioned documents and a CV (if available) to [email protected] by 31 October 2025.
