Placement Details

Students will spend a week learning about how the Fitzwilliam Hotel delivers a 5* guest experience. 

They will spend time with each department, getting to know how each team operates and collaborates to provide our guests with a warm welcome and a comfortable stay where their every need is catered for.

This includes:

  • Concierge - Welcoming guests, dealing with luggage, assisting guests
  • Reception - Front Office system, checking in/out a guest, customer service, admin duties
  • Accommodation - Introduction to rooms, servicing of bedrooms/bathrooms, stock control
  • Maintenance - Hotel walk, observe general maintenance duties
  • Kitchen - Service preparation, food safety, menus, learn knife skills
  • Restaurant (Citron) - Preparation & set up for breakfast, sequence of service & taking orders, room service
  • The Lounge (Hotel Bar) - Preparation & set up, floor service, sequence of service, learning how to make coffees/cappuccinos/lattes, lunch service

Please note to work in the bar you need to be 16 years or older.
