Moher Cottage is a family run, award winning, design led destination coffee dock and gift shop at St.Brigid’s Well beside the Cliffs of Moher in Co. Clare. It supports local Irish businesses, serving the finest barista premium coffee, locally baked goods and their artisan Cliffs of Moher Fudge made on the premises. Visitors love to spend some time on the Wild Atlantic Way on the Viewing Terrace to enjoy the panoramic spectacular views over the owner’s family farm, looking out over Liscannor Bay with views of Lahinch beach and all the way to the Kerry mountains. Just spectacular.
Voted most recently by listeners to TodayFM as having Ireland’s Best Coffee they are making a name in the area and wider afield as the perfect stop on the Wild Atlantic Way. They also sell a range of beautiful Irish products that are loved, unique local Irish made crafts and gifts.
Owned by Kevin and Caitriona Considine who also run their family owned pub Considine’s Bar which been in operation on the Considine family farm at St. Brigid’s Well beside the Cliffs of Moher since 1868. Historically it was both a country shop and pub but more recent times it remains a pub. Now run by the 4th generation of the Considine family, Kevin and Caitriona Considine, and together they are working to keep the pub growing with the times but staying faithful to its heritage. To that end in 2016 they set about converting an old farm cottage beside the family home, used previously to milk their cows and feed their pigs.
Keen as they are to bring back the shop that once was to St. Brigid’s Well and the Cliffs of Moher. And so in Spring 2017 Moher Cottage arrived.
Placement Details
Moher Cottage always welcomes students for work experience. Your work experience may include some training in different areas of the business for example in retail or in the coffee store learning key barista skills. You will always have interaction with the our customers learning invaluable customer relationship skills.
You will be assigned a mentor who will guide you through your work experience and give you an understanding of the hospitality industry.
