At Builin Blasta Cafe & Bakery located in Spiddal, Co. Galway we love food, we love cafe culture & we love to be a little different. Our cafe is family friendly, dog friendly, and wheelchair friendly and overall, just friendly!

Specialising in wholesome, tasty comfort food that fits almost any dietary restrictions, we are dedicated to quality from start to finish; our breads, cakes & pastries are made in-house, we have a selection of homemade - Our famous Smoked Onion Mayo along with a selection of  dressing and chutneys available to purchase in store or online and we cook all your food fresh, to order.

We are currently renovating the cafe reopening in early March. We will have a brand new layout in Cafe with an extensive seating & retail area, along with a new kitchen for making our products and catering. Exciting times and opportunities. 

We have positions available in the kitchen and front of house.

Placement Details

Do you have a passion for food and cooking? 

If you are interested in food and cooking well this might be the work experience for you!  Are you willing to learn, have respect for people, food and the planet?

You will work along side our kitchen team, one of whom will guide you through the placement. 

Training will take place on the job and online for induction and mandatory training. 

Duties will include preparing food and garnishes for dishes, checking & putting away deliveries, baking and pastry skills, cleaning and washup. 

This job will give the student a great insight as to how a busy kitchen operates. They will learn some new skills - how to use a knife for chopping and preparing food, basic pastry and baking items such as brownies, biscuit cake, sponge cakes, cinnamon rolls.
