The Medieval Mile Museum is located in the heart of Kilkenny. It tells the story of the history of the city and its people, bringing the city's rich heritage to life. The museum has many artefacts on display - including medieval manuscripts and replicas of the High Crosses of Ossory - preserving these treasures for future generations.

We run guided tours, as well as events. Visitors are key to the museum's mission. We want people to have fun on their visit to the Medieval Mile Museum, and to discover the amazing stories and characters of Kilkenny's history.

 

 

Placement Details

Students will work with the Curator and Visitor Experience team to gain insight into museum operations. Duties include:

•Assisting the Curator with collections care, research, and exhibition preparation.

•Welcoming visitors, helping with ticket sales, and supporting the museum shop.

•Assisting with event setup and visitor engagement.

This placement offers hands-on experience both front-of-house and behind the scenes.
