Biddys O’Barnes is Donegal’s and indeed one of Irelands’, most famous pubs. Nestled at the foothills of the Blue Stack Mountains, on the Banks of the Lowerymore River, nine miles from Ballybofey and just six miles from Donegal Town, it is a little haven of tradition in the Donegal countryside.
We employee about 20-25 people between part-time and full-time staff.
We've recently launched a full restaurant which is run by Chef team Chris McMenamin & Colin McKee, formerly the Head Chef and Sous Chef of Harvey's Point. Our restaurant team caters for our regular food trade as well as parties and events.

Placement Details
Get an overview of the back of house workings of a busy restaurant - from wash-up to cooking on the line, tutored by Executive Chef Team Chris McMenamin & Colin McKee.
Activities include (may vary):
- Tour of the site; back of house areas
- Breakdown of individual positions
- Meeting suppliers
- Overview of Health & Safety
- Organisation of a kitchen and stock rooms
Key Learning Objectives:
- Gain basic knowledge of the importance of all areas of the back of house
- What Chefs do from a day-to-day basis (hint; it's not all cooking!)
- Understand skills required for each position & level
- Confidence to apply and work in hospitality
