The portfolio features four distinct hotel brands including the Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa, the Killarney Avenue Hotel, the Killarney Towers Hotel and the River Island Hotel along with Park Place Apartments.

Each property imbues its own bespoke experience, uniquely tailored with the guest’s taste and preference in mind, delivered by a passionate and experienced team. Innovative restaurants & bars include The Tan Yard, Café Du Parc and O’Donoghue Public House while The Spa at the Killarney Plaza offers the ultimate experience in relaxation.

All of our hotels and apartments are located in the Centre of Killarney town. 

Placement Details

The hotel placement will involve working in different areas across our hotel. 

Departments:

• Food and Beverage - Bar and Restaurant 
• Kitchen,
• Front Office,
• Housekeeping.

As part of your placement you will receive a full induction to our collection and the hotel you are placed in. As part of your induction you will also interact with our online learning platform and communications platform.

During your induction you will get a tour of the hotel and meet team members during that tour. 

Every department you work in, you will have a department trainer or department champion mentor your and show you how that department works. This is a great way to introduce you to how the department works and operates. All our departments have a trainer, these are the key people that will help you throughout your placement. 

In each department you work in you will learn how that department works and you will be shown the essential skills for each area. Each department has certain skills that apply from communication, team work, service skills, organizational skills, time management and also essential skills in hospitality such as customers service, customer interaction and various standards that apply in hotels. 

The Hotel placement will be varied role but overall a great experience working with great mentors and training. The hotel placement will show you the inner working of hotels and all the amazing opportunities and careers that exist in this global industry. 

 Note you will need to be 16 years or older to work in the bar.
