Glen Keen farm is one of Irelands largest single family owned sheep farms located 10km outside of Louisburgh via the Leenane Road.

While Glen Keen Farm is still a working sheep farm we also offer immersive visitor experiences ranging from Sheep Herding Demonstrations to live Irish Music and Dance sessions.

Experiences are all pre booked and groups, often from International locations, generally arrive by coach.  Their pre booked experiences often include a food and beverage service along with a visit to our on site craft shop.

Our staff positions are mainly seasonal and include Kitchen, Service and Retail staff as well as accounts/admin staff.

 

Placement Details

You placement will include experience in all aspects involved in hosting a group visit at Glen Keen Farm & Visitor Centre:

• Welcoming and directing guests to their tables
• Waiting tables
• Making Tea/Coffee
• Operating the till
• Preparing areas for service
• Setting tables
• Clearing tables
• Use of credit card machine
• Cleaning of public areas

Your mentor will guide you through all tasks and be available if you should have any problems or questions.  You will be working alongside our friendly team of staff who will also be happy to help you with any tasks assigned to you.
