Our vision at the Leaf and Larder is to use the very best of local produce to create a selection of freshly made gourmet sandwiches, “ready to heat” take away meals and healthy robust salads.

We buy from local suppliers to make all our own dish’s as well as our famous  in house soda bread, scones and other confectionary items.

We serve Badger & Dodo coffee along with freshly baked sweet treats and on our shelves you will find some of our favourite artisan foods and local cheeses.

We aim to be an integral ingredient in the transition from little known producers to artisanal heroes, by choosing to source, stock and showcase their produce.

Placement Details

Involvement in areas in the kitchen and front of house.

Involvement in the Kitchen includes

Assisting in menu planning and preparing food under health and safety guidelines, assisting and observation of food being cooked and learning about kitchen equipment. Learning and Involvement in other general kitchen duties. 

Involvement in front of house includes

Customer service, greeting and serving customers, ensure the service area is clean, assisting and observation of coffees and beverages being made.  Learning and Involvement in other general front of house duties.

A mentor will be assigned during the course of the placement. Skills training will be provided. Other students may be on placement here at the same time.
