The Cliff House Hotel is a five-star, privately owned luxury hotel located close to Cork and Waterford.  The building seems to cling to a cliff on the south side of Ardmore Bay.  From sun-drenched terraces and private balconies, it is possible to see Ardmore’s sands, lobster pots and dolphins that play out on the water.  All our luxury rooms and suites are sea facing while many are interconnected to provide family-friendly configurations.

Placement Details

Under the general guidance and direction of the Food & Beverage Manager and within the limits of established The Cliff House policies, procedures and departmental standards manual, to assist in ensuring the highest possible standards of service and efficiency within all areas of responsibility are carried out on a daily basis.  To be fully conversant with all emergency and security procedures within the hotel, and take charge of any situation that may arise.  To maintain the highest standard of service and operational efficiency within all areas of responsibility.  To ensure there is a positive approach, which is actively pursued in respect of training and development within the department.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To ensure that the day to day running of The Bar Restaurant operates in an efficient and professional manner with a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Procedures and standards of service must be followed at all times ensuring a high level of consistency and professionalism within room service.
  • All tasks and duties to be carried out with the maximum speed to improve the efficiency of the operation but always maintain control and professionalism.
  • To possess product knowledge of the drinks and food items, together with the services within this department. To also have a good working knowledge of all services within the hotel.
  • To clean agreed designated areas and set tables to required standards, ensuring that the table linen is clean and undamaged.
