Tipi Adventures Ireland is inspired by love for the outdoors.  We organise Tipi, Hammock and Tree Tent camping at our private wilderness site located close to Rathdrum Village in Co. Wicklow. The site is in a woodland forest where scenes from the popular TV series Vikings were filmed and is  bordered by the beautiful Avonmore river.  An opportunity to experience a true wilderness camping adventure in a tranquil and safe location. 

One of the things we love to do in the forest, is to cook over the open fire.   By combining creativity, fresh locally sourced ingredients, an open fire and a whole load of passion, this enables us to offer a unique dining experience.

We also like to add an educational aspect to everything we do on site and run workshops such as Natural Living Skills, Fundamental Outdoor Skills. We also run workshops in Yoga, Mindfulness and Forest Bathing.

The experience our guests take away with them is one of adventure, re-connection with nature, new skills and above all else, a feeling of well being and fulfilment. 

We currently have 1 full time role which is taken up by Ed Ledesma, owner & operator of Tipi Adventures. During the busier months (April-September) we have up to 15 additional staff members. Roles vary from assisting with our outdoor catering section, delivering and supervising programmes and general management and upkeep of our site.   

Placement Details

There is a broad area where you will gain work experience working alongside Ed.

• Hospitality in terms of cooking and serving food. Furthermore gain knowledge in managing heat when cooking over the fire.
• Assisting in delivery of our workshops
• Harvesting firewood
• Building and maintaining campfires
• Assisting with guided forest walks
• Set up /take down of tents and hammocks
• Site Maintenance
• Assisting in managing the calendar and preparing camp for expected guests
