Beautifully situated on a private estate on the edge of Killarney National Park, our luxury four-star hotel is located just twenty minutes’ walk from Killarney town centre on the Muckross Road. The entrance to the hotel is framed by a tunnel of greenery which unfurls to reveal the beauty of this imposing manor house, constructed in 1877 and formerly home to the Herbert Family.

Cahernane House Hotel exudes a sense of relaxation and peacefulness where guests can retreat from the hectic pace of life into a cocoon of calmness and serenity. The only sounds you may hear are the cows bellowing, the lambs bleating or the birds singing.

Our 48 bedrooms consist of the original Manor House, Garden Wing and Coach House. Our fine dining restaurant, The Herbert Restaurant opens 5 nights a week and we offer a more casual dining experience in our Cellar Bar daily from 1pm - 9.30pm. 

We employ up to 50 people in the height of the summer and there are opportunities for students in the areas of Food & Beverage, Front Office and Accommodation. 

 

 

 

 

 

Placement Details

We would like students to gain some experience in our hotel. There are a variety of jobs available - from reception, accommodation, porter and food and beverage staff. We will agree a program with you, which suits your talents and in which you have the most interest. 

Hotels are for you if you have an interest in people and would like to learn. Our experienced staff will give you excellent training. Working and gaining experience in a hotel is something you will take with you for years ahead.

We are a relatively small operation but welcome anyone that would like to see the inner workings of a hotel. 

Note you will need to be 16 years or older to work in the bar.
