Reach (Junior Cycle Programme)

This programme focuses on the development of Junior Cycle Key Skills and Whole School Guidance provision aided by a comprehensive Scheme of Work.

REACH Junior Cycle Overview

A suite of pen and paper and online activities for students covering 5 key areas, appropriately developed for Junior Cycle students:

Introducing Gamification

For students, the programme is presented as an Island of Discovery. The island is divided into five locations, each location having a number of Apps for students to discover (total of 34 Apps, 60+ Activities):

  • the CAMPUS (My School Community)
  • the AMUSEMENT PARK (About Me)
  • the GREAT OUTDOORS (My Wellness)
  • the TOWN (My Education)
  • the COAST (My Career Options)

As students complete the Apps, the Island comes to life, and their personal journey unfolds!

The Online Platform inlcudes:

  • A personalised Digital Career Portfolio for each student, viewable by the Guidance Counsellor and Teachers
  • A student book covering the 3 years of Junior Cycle (once off purchase).
  • Lesson Plans, PowerPoints, Kahoot Quizzes and Videos with relevant links to Junior Cycle Key Skills and the Whole School Guidance Framework to support you in delivering the programme
  • The online programme will be available in Irish at the click of a button
  • Student Exercises and PowerPoint Presentations for Leaving Cert Subject Choice which encourages research. Ranking and preferences from students provide valuable feedback for school management.
  • Customised school guidance website (free with purchases of over 50 students)
  • Once off purchase for students in 1st year and lasts for the duration of Junior Cycle
  • CPD training and online / phone support available
  • This programme will fulfil the required Junior Cycle guidance hours

REACH Junior Cycle and REACH Senior Cycle both qualify under the free book scheme (The physical workbook and online platform for each programme come as one entity which is fully covered)

  • REACH SC has 2 product options available covering TY -6th year: (online resources are the same for both – please note which option you would like when ordering):

If your school chooses to go to tender via the DPS system and purchase from a bookshop the cost will be more expensive and delivery will take significantly longer, please note we have no control over this. We also request that you submit the following documents as proof of purchase before receiving online login details:

  • Your School Booklist which shows the REACH Senior Cycle Programme listed
  • A copy of an invoice from the bookshop.
  • The quantities of books purchased must be stated on the evidence of purchase.

**Please note that once 50 REACH books have been ordered the school will also have access to a free school guidance website.
